Yes. FlashScan is free on the App Store, with no account and no ads.

No. Scanning, filters, text recognition and redaction run on your iPhone. Documents, signatures and stamps are stored only on your device. The app uses Umeng analytics for anonymized device and usage statistics, which never include document content.

Not at the moment. FlashScan requires an iPhone running iOS 16 or later.

ID numbers (with checksum validation), phone numbers, bank card numbers, emails, @handles, QR codes, barcodes and faces are covered automatically. Names, addresses and company names are suggested for you to confirm. Detection rules are tuned for Chinese formats; you can always long-press words or draw a box to cover anything else.

PDF and images (ZIP for multi-page documents). ID card copies can also be exported as Word. You can print directly or share to any app.

Chinese, English, Japanese and other common languages are detected automatically.

Documents are stored only on the current device and are deleted with the app. Export important documents as PDF before switching phones or uninstalling.

Go to Settings › FlashScan and make sure camera access is allowed. If the screen stays black, quit the app completely and open it again.

If you granted access to selected photos only, change it in Settings › FlashScan › Photos, or add more photos in the picker.

Place the document on a contrasting surface with even light and no glare. You can always drag the four corners in Crop.

Dashed boxes are only covered after you tap them. Long-press words or draw a box to add anything that was missed, and use Preview before saving.

Exporting opens the share sheet. Choose Save to Files, or send the file to any app.
